Tell me your story. A story of travel. Of deep thought. Passion and progression. The summer of 2010 led me in a new direction as a person and artist. Over the past few months, I experienced new surrounding and opportunity I had never witnessed before. A trip to Moosehead Lake Maine showed me the essence of beauty in the north during the warm season of summer. A bit tender at night, comfort in the day, brought upon a new respect of the north. A place that lays a blanket of white for most of the year, showed only rich greens and open blues for the time we travelled. We experienced great cuisine, hiking and local interaction. Going to Saddleback Mountain Bluegrass Festival in Rangeley, hiking a trail on Mount Kineo with a fire tower at the summit and white water rafting in the Kennebec River called for the highlights of the nine days spent up north. Two days after our arrival back to Richmond Virginia, I had the appreciated opportunity to live performance paint at a small music festival in Bartow, West Virginia called Camp Barefoot Music Festival; The forth year held and the first year in the new area of WV. This was the first time I was ever showcased at a festival for my performance as an artist and this came with many perks. I was able to sell my paintings, prints, illustrations and crafts all weekend long right near the main stage meeting many nice smiling faces and seeing great old friends from the Richmond area. What a treat to enjoy the fun and sun to music all day and then paint two shows each night of the festival. During the day we came across a slightly hidden keg for VIP behind the main stage which served for all the hydrating buzz a young fellow could enjoy. During the performance painting, I chatted with many friendly folks about my work and other nonsense that comes from a non filtered mouth during late hours at a music festival. At this time, some late hour on friday night, I had the realization that I had reached the peak of my love and passion for the arts. A fulfilling moment to be able to share this love with anyone, opened or closed to the artist doors. And for myself, feeling that there was a progression in sight. Pushing hard but humbly towards new horizons that were never thought to be seen. These are a few photos that encompass my experience during these two weeks. Hope you all enjoy and thanks for the great support from friends, family and unknown art lovers, for without you, this would never exist.
